Honor 9 Lite hands on

Launched in the last few months with respect to 9i, Honor 7X, and Honor View 10, Honors is a kind of way. But the company has no mood to take a break (or let us take one!). Within the first month of December 2009, after the launch of Honor 7X and Honor View 10, a Honor mid-range smartphone - Honor 9 Light launched in December.

The highlight of the Honor 9Light is that it packs the quad cameras, as we first saw on Honor 9i, the refined glass design with the back-end mirror-like effect is the first thing you will notice about the phone.

I spent a few days with the smartphone before launch, and here are my first impressions

It is not the first possibility that at first glance, the Honor 9 light design will not be affected. It reminds you of the iPhone 8 Plus, in which the glass ends like a mirror in the back, and it is not bad at all.

Honor 9Light feels more premium than any other metal Unibody phone costs and stands in the crowd. The quality of construction is impressive with elegant finishing, and minimalism is clear.

With a 5.65 inch display in the 6-inch body and about 7.6 mm thickness, the Honor 9Light is quite compact and fits well in the hand - although the operation of one hand with long performance is still a vibe. At 149 grams, it is also easy on the wrist.

The shiny back is highly reflective and is almost a mirror - enough to check your hair before entering a meeting. Of the three color variations on offer, blue looks incredible, but it also attracts a lot of haze. It's easy to get rid of, but a compromise for a sleek-looking smartphone.

Display

In addition to the dual cameras, the second trend in mainstream in 2017 was a 18: 9 display and by the end of the year, it was almost a hygiene factor for a longer performance and minimal bezel.

The 5.65 inch IPS LCD gives a high pixel density of 428ppi with a resolution of 9: 18 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2160 x 1080. If you want, the resolution can be dialed to 720p to save the battery. The display is lively, and provides sharp text and very good color reproduction, although viewing angles are limited.

Hardware

The Honor 9Light is powered by a single chipset, which we saw on Honor 9I and Honor 7X- Haciilik Kirin 659. There are two types - a 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage and the second GB 4 GB and 64 GB.

In initial, limited use, the display of the phone is admirable. While the proprietary layer of Honors on EMUI, Android, is not the lightest skin, it is well tilted to throw it on. Of course, we will soon know better after taking the phone to make a deeper dive for the upcoming review.

The Honor 9Light comes with 3,000 mAh battery and supports the company's fast charging technology dubbed as a super charge. However, the choice of Micro USB port is a bit of a hassle in the 2018 smartphone instead of the USB Type-C.

The camera

Honor 9 Light pack front and rear side in dual camera setup To get the information in depth, there is a 13 megapixel lens to lift with a 2 megapixel lens (yes, those bottle shots are running). 2MP camera also helps to improve low light performance, like a dual camera hopes on a smartphone.

In my limited test, the camera did not really shine - especially in low light. Although in broad daylight, color reproduction is mostly accurate, which also means that the photos are not very saturated, yet there is white white balance. Details are also fine but some noise crawls randomly. I have to reserve my decision till I am unable to complete the test in different light conditions.

Software

Even with the other smartphones launching in January 2018, with the Android Nuggets (Flowing!), Android 8.0 Oreo is a big supporter for honoring the launch of Honor 9 Light.
Of course, it has an EMUI 8.0 layer, which is a strange successor to EMUI 5.1.

The company chose to move forward the version number of the sense UI to align with Android version numbers. Understand, yes. There is also a general group of Bluetooth which we look at on the Honor devices.

  1. Thanks for this detailed review! My 10 years old son wants me to buy it for his birthday. But children often lose their phones. A friend of mine recommended me to install https://www.hoverwatch.com/hidden-phone-tracker on my son’s phone and track where he and his phone are. It can also track calls, messages and web activity. What do you think of it?
